Lientjie was born in Caledon, Western Cape on 9th of August 1976. She grew up in Nelspoort in the Great Karoo and later Beafort West. Hence love being in nature and country side spaces. During her early years the artist in her was innocently awakened. As a child, she drew pictures and sold her creations in the front yard. Her school days were dominated with simple and rudimentary art supplies, but despite this she became fascinated by colour. Several Eisteddford prizes for art were won. During her dreamy, confused teenage years  she expressed her creativity through dancing by herself or rearranging her mothers furniture.

After school she moved to Hermanus and started fabric painting, selling her tablecloths and cushion covers on the market.  She left South Africa in 1999 to Londen were she worked and travelled for 3 years were she met her husband. One of her house mates had a degree in art and being exposed to creativy, Lientjie was reminded of her artistic talent yet again. After Londen the couple got married back in South Africa and travelled for 2 years were they worked on yachts in the Meditaranean.

Returning to South Africa, given an easel as a bithday present, Lientjie started painting. She eagerly developed her techniques, style and eye for colour to a confident level over the past 8 years. Through determination and hard work she has sold up to 800 paintings up to 2012, which is spread over not only South Africa but globally as well.
She is also a keen crafter and makes various mosaic works and other interesting pieces. Naturally self taught her style is influenced by a few master painters like her love for Irma Sterns art work and  Paul Cezanne's warm colours to create sensation. her figures has a little of Amedeo Modigliani's recognizable figures with their far away stare and space around them..

Lientjie has so much to add to the world, realizing her true self, the past was only experience and preparation for the future. And so much more to come...
